GH3128 Nickel-Based Superalloy: Composition, Properties, Heat Treatment, and Applications 2026-10-10
GH3128 is a nickel-chromium (Ni-Cr) based deformable high-temperature alloy designed for service temperatures up to 950 °C. The alloy derives its mechanical properties primarily through solid solution strengthening via approximately 16% combined tungsten (W) and molybdenum (Mo), complemented by grain boundary purification and strengthening using boron (B), cerium (Ce), and zirconium (Zr). This composition achieves an optimal balance among ductility, creep resistance, and oxidation resistance. Comparative analyses indicate that GH3128 exhibits superior overall performance relative to peer Ni-based solid solution alloys such as GH3044 and GH3536. Consequently, it is a critical material choice for high-temperature welded components, including combustion chamber flame tubes.
